After another English breakfast, followed by orientation at our IMB missionary’s home, we started our door to door visitation in the Erdington neighborhood of Birmingham. We delivered invitations to Saturday’s “Summer Fun Day” to 700 homes and spoke with another 100 people on the streets. It was a beautiful day and we are expecting great weather tomorrow when we plan to take invitation to more than 1,800 homes.
The forecast includes rain, so we are praying for Saturday to be a sunny day. Please pray with us. We are planning to double our workload tomorrow because Friday’s forecast is for rain, heavy at times. It is more important that Saturday be without rain, so ask the Lord to show us favor and keep the rain away on Saturday. We are praying for 1,000 people to attend this outreach event.
This afternoon we toured a three story building the new church is leasing and up fitting as an outreach center / coffee shop. Their vision is exciting and their faith is strong. Below is a photograph of the pastor (Jez) and missionary Kenny Dubnick in front of the building, which is located on the “High Street”. Think of an American Main Street, but more pedestrian friendly where the locals gather. The location will provide them great visibility and ministry opportunities.
The team has had a good day but is also experiencing some fatigue. I think everyone is ready for a good night of sleep, so please pray for rest and renewed energy tomorrow. Also pray for God to give us favor as we visit all those homes. Only about 2% of the people here are evangelical, Bible believing Christians. The need for Jesus is great.
As always, thank you for praying.
