So far today the rain has held off, except for a light drizzle for a few minutes. This morning we took invite cards to another 489 homes in two different neighborhoods, making a total of more than 3,000 homes we’ve visited since arriving in Birmingham. The team has done great and a lot more people now know about Oikos Church. If we did nothing else, that alone is a great help and encouragement to this young church.
This afternoon we took the train to the small English town of Lichfield, located a few miles north of Birmingham. It is a quaint town with a large Cathedral dating to the late 12th century. On display a manuscript written in Latin of the Gospels of Matthew and Mark dating from 730 AD (Photo below). While in Lichfield we ate lunch at a local restaurant, with most of enjoying fish and chips. Hey, when in England….
The weather forecast for Saturday is still calling for rain, but not as heavy as before. Please continue praying that rain does not disrupt the planned “Summer Fun Day.” Also pray each member of our team and our fellow believers from Oikos Church are filled with the Holy Spirit tomorrow and have energy that comes from God to do what needs to be done. Pray for miracles to happen in the hearts of many people who show up.
I’ll do my best to give you an update Saturday evening, so check my blog and Instagram.
Again, thank you for praying.
